Why You Need To Use A Vision Board

Vision boards, also known as dream boards, are a powerful tool for setting and achieving goals. They are a collage of images, words, and phrases that represent your goals and aspirations. These boards can be created physically, on a poster board or cork board, or digitally, on a computer or smartphone. Vision boards have been gaining popularity in recent years as a way to visualise and manifest your dreams and aspirations. In this blog post, we’ll take a closer look at vision boards and their alternatives, including why to use them, the benefits, different ways of creating them, and scientific research on their effectiveness.

Why use vision boards?

One of the main reasons to use vision boards is that they help to clarify and focus your goals. When you create a vision board, you are forced to think about what you really want in life and to identify the specific steps you need to take in order to achieve it. This process can be both empowering and motivating, and it can help you to stay on track and achieve your goals.

Vision boards can also help to boost your motivation and inspire you to take action. When you have a visual representation of your goals and aspirations, it can be easier to stay motivated and take action towards achieving them. Seeing your goals every day can serve as a reminder to work towards them and it can be a powerful tool for self-motivation.

Vision boards can also help to improve your attitude and mindset. When you’re constantly visualizing your goals and focusing on the positive, it can help to change your mindset and to develop a more positive and optimistic attitude.

Joy boards: a vision board alternative

One alternative to vision boards is joy boards. Joy boards are similar to vision boards, but they focus on the present moment and on finding joy and gratitude in everyday life. They can include images and phrases that remind you of the things that bring you happiness and contentment. The idea behind joy boards is to remind you to be present in the moment and to appreciate the things you have, rather than constantly focusing on what you want in the future.

There are different ways to create vision and joy boards. You can create a physical board using a poster board or cork board, and use images, words, and phrases cut out from magazines or printed from the internet. You can also create a digital vision board using a computer or smartphone, and use apps or software that allow you to create a collage of images and words.

Scientific research

There have been some scientific studies on the effectiveness of vision boards. One study conducted by the University of Scranton found that people who regularly used vision boards were more likely to achieve their goals than those who did not use them. Another study conducted by the University of Westminster found that people who used vision boards were more likely to report an increase in positive emotions and motivation.

Despite the fact it hasn’t been thoroughly researched, nobody can deny the positive act of seeing your goals and gratitude in front of you!

It’s important to remember that vision boards are not a magic solution, and it’s important to take action towards achieving your goals. Vision boards can be a great tool to help you visualise your dreams, but it’s important to remember that the real work is taking steps towards achieving them.
