Host Webinars to Showcase Your Expertise

Hosting webinars is a cost-effective way to engage with your audience and demonstrate your expertise. Choose topics that address common pain points in your industry and provide valuable solutions. Promote your webinar through social media and email marketing to attract a wider audience. They’re great for building a relationship with your audience and showing them you really know what you’re talking about.

Send Out An Email

If you’ve got an email list, make sure you’re leveraging it on a regular basis. If you don’t have one, make it your priority. Getting in front of your customers’ eyeballs without playing the algorithm game is worth its weight in gold!

Start a Referral Program

Word-of-mouth is incredibly powerful. Create a referral program that rewards your existing customers for bringing in new business. Offer discounts, free products, or other incentives to encourage referrals. Make it easy for customers to refer others with a simple referral link.

Optimise Local SEO

If you have a physical location or serve a specific area, optimising for local SEO can bring in more local customers. Ensure your Google My Business profile is up-to-date, encourage satisfied customers to leave positive reviews, and use local keywords on your website and blog posts.

Leverage User-Generated Content

Encourage your customers to create content about your products or services. This can include reviews, testimonials, or social media posts. Share this user-generated content on your own platforms to build trust and authenticity without spending on advertising.

Offer Free Workshops or Classes

Offering free workshops or classes related to your industry can attract potential customers. These sessions can be held in-person or online. Use these opportunities to showcase your knowledge, build relationships, and gently introduce your products or services. This is similar to holding a webinar but is more hands-on and usually involves the customer leaving with a finished *thing*.

Use Canva for Professional Graphics

Canva is a free design tool that allows you to create professional-looking graphics for social media, marketing materials, and more. With its easy-to-use interface and a plethora of templates, you can maintain a polished brand image without the need for a graphic designer. You can use this for a whole host of things – it’s become really popular for creating digital products you can sell too!

Conduct Regular Customer Feedback Surveys

Understanding your customers’ needs and satisfaction levels is crucial for improvement. Use free survey tools like Google Forms or SurveyMonkey to gather feedback. Regularly review this feedback to identify areas for improvement and to understand what your customers value most. By making the changes to the feedback you’re directly showing you understand what your customers need.

Collaboration Is King

Whatever industry you’re in, there will be someone you can collaborate with. The more collaborations you have, the wider you cast the net for potential customers. Don’t sell out just for the sake of collaborating though, make sure they’re meaningful connections and both parties will add value to their audience.

Engage With Your Local Community

Whether that community is online or in person, engage! I use the word local loosely because it can mean local to your industry. Participate in events, network, and get your name known as the key person for whatever it is you specialise in.
